Project 2

Identity Design
Project Overview
The Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute is a private, non-profit oceanographic research center in Moss Landing, California. MBARI was founded in 1987 by David Packard, and is primarily funded by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. The goal is to rebrand Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI). The work includes designing a new logo, posters about the organization, business card, envelope, letterhead, and Instagram page. Designing to involve the organization in an activity includes designing event tickets, posters, Badges, Wristbands, and Schedule cards.
My Contributions
By delving into the story of the organization and the research they are working to do to protect the marine environment, the logo theme was determined to be the study of the impact of human activities on the air flow over the ocean, resulting in the destruction of the marine environment.
Strange airflow
The air floats here and there, as if it has its own destination. An is walking his own unique route on the sea, but changes in temperature disrupt their route. The rectangle represents the air flow, and the center point formed in the middle represents that this air flow deserves people's attention. Color selections come from real airflow maps.
MBARI & SEPHORA
"Eco-Beauty from the Depths" is a theme that merges the enchanting mysteries of the ocean's depths with the transformative power of beauty. This collaboration between the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) and Sephora brings forth a makeup collection that celebrates the delicate, yet resilient, beauty of marine life and the need for eco-conscious choices. The goal is let people understand the charm of the depths of the ocean and feel the colors of the depths of the ocean.
